Upon completing a tour in the US Air Force (1966-1970) and a career in the Railroad Industry as a Switchman, Brakeman, Conductor, Fireman, and Locomotive Engineer (1971-2006) I felt the desire to follow in my father’s footsteps and enter the Texas Medicare insurance industry.

Starting my professional life as a secondary teacher offered me the opportunity and experience to develop a knack for explaining things so others can understand. It is one thing to know the information but to be able to clearly relay it is quite another!

Medicare in Hurst, Texas

Medicare is a complex topic, but we make it simple! We start by explaining Original Medicare, then we cover Medicare insurance plans such as Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements, and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans. We hope you learn something you didn’t know before, and that you are more equipped to make an informed decision about the plan you want. We will then help you enroll in your Texas Medicare plan. It is that simple!

Original Medicare

Original Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people who are 65 or older, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with end-stage renal disease (permanent kidney failure). Original Medicare has two parts:

  • Part A covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care.
  • Part B covers physician services, outpatient care, some preventive services, and some home health care.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage is a private health insurance plan that provides all of the benefits of Original Medicare, plus some additional benefits. Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies, and they must follow the rules set by Medicare.

Medicare Supplements

Medicare Supplements, also known as Medigap, are private health insurance plans that fill in the gaps in Original Medicare coverage. Medicare Supplement plans typically cover copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans are private health insurance plans that help pay for prescription drugs. Medicare Prescription Drug Plans must follow the rules set by Medicare.
