When to Enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan in San Antonio Texas

You can enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan in San Antonio Texas when you are first eligible for Medicare. This is known as your Initial Enrollment Period or IEP. The IEP begins three months before the month you turn 65. It includes your birthday month and three months after for a total of seven months. The period includes your 25th month and three months after for a total of seven months.

You can also enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan during the Annual Election Period or AEP. This period runs from October 15 through December 7 every year. If you lose your healthcare coverage, you might also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).
