There are several things to consider before you enroll for Medicare:
  • Your eligibility. You’re eligible for Medicare if you’re 65 or older, or if you have a qualifying disability.
  • The cost. Medicare plans have monthly premiums, and you may also have to pay deductibles and copayments.
  • The benefits. Medicare plans cover a variety of services, including doctor visits, hospital stays, and prescription drugs.
  • Your health needs. Do you have any chronic health conditions? If so, you’ll need to make sure that the Medicare Advantage plan you choose covers your doctors and hospitals.
  • Your budget. Medicare Advantage plans can have different costs, so you’ll need to choose one that fits your budget.
  • Your options. There are many different Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Supplements available. You’ll need to compare plans to find the one that’s best for you.
  • Your location. Not all Medicare Advantage and Medigap plans are available in all areas. If you move to a new location, you’ll need to make sure that the plan you choose is available in your new area.
  • Your preferences. If you choose Medicare Advantage, some people prefer to have a Medicare Advantage plan that covers everything, while others prefer to have a plan that covers only their basic health needs and then they can buy separate coverage for things like vision and dental care.

It’s important to do your research and compare different Medicare Advantage plans before you enroll. You can find information about Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans by calling Ashford Insurance at 817-952-3153.
