ASHFORD INSURANCE | GRAPEVINE MOTORCYCLE COVERAGE

Grapevine motorcycle insurance

A motorcycle policy should account for the bike you ride, its drivers, and the kind of trips you take. Ashford Insurance serves Grapevine from its office in Hurst and can help you review liability, damage to your bike, and policy limits before you ride.

Start with Texas liability requirements

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) says motorcyclists must prove financial responsibility for accidents they may cause. The minimum liability limits are $30,000 for each injured person, $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 for property damage, often called 30/60/25. Those are minimums, not a recommendation for every rider. Ask how higher limits would affect the protection and premium available to you.

Liability coverage is intended for losses you cause to other people. It does not automatically pay to repair your motorcycle or cover your own injuries. Review the actual policy and ask which optional coverages fit your circumstances, without assuming they are included in a quote.

Review the bike, equipment, and riders

Bike damage

Ask whether collision and comprehensive coverage are offered, what losses they address, and how deductibles and valuation apply to your motorcycle.

Accessories

Tell the insurer about custom parts, added equipment, and protective gear. Check what is included and whether any separate limit or endorsement is needed.

People and use

List regular and occasional riders accurately. Ask about passenger terms and any exclusions for off-road riding, racing, or nonstandard use.

A car policy should not be assumed to protect a motorcycle. TDI notes that mopeds and motor-driven cycles have the same liability-insurance requirement as motorcycles, while off-road vehicles not permitted on public roads are treated differently. Confirm the category of your own vehicle before relying on a policy.
