Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C) in Euless

Medicare Advantage Plans, also known as Part C plans, are offered through private insurance companies. They can be a great way to get additional health coverage and lower your out-of-pocket costs.

By law, all Medicare Advantage Plans include your Original Medicare benefits. This means you get your Parts A & B benefits, plus additional health insurance, all in one convenient plan. You can even add more benefits, including prescription drug coverage, dental, vision, wellness programs, and more.

Do I Need a Medicare Advantage Plan?

Only you can decide how much medical coverage you need. However, there are a few things to consider when deciding if a Medicare Advantage Plan is right for you.

  • Out-of-pocket costs: Original Medicare does not have a maximum out-of-pocket limit. This means that your costs can add up quickly, especially if you have a chronic or major illness. Medicare Advantage Plans, on the other hand, do have a maximum out-of-pocket limit. This can help you save money if you have high medical expenses.
  • Choice of doctors and hospitals: Original Medicare gives you the freedom to see any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare. However, not all doctors and hospitals participate in Medicare Advantage Plans. If you have a specific doctor or hospital that you want to continue seeing, make sure that they are in your Medicare Advantage Plan’s network.
  • Prescription drug coverage: Original Medicare does not cover prescription drugs. However, many Medicare Advantage Plans do include prescription drug coverage. If you need prescription drug coverage, a Medicare Advantage Plan may be a good option for you.

How Much Does it Cost?

The cost of a Medicare Advantage Plan varies depending on the plan and your location. However, monthly premiums for Medicare Advantage Plans are generally lower than the combined cost of Original Medicare and a Medicare Supplement Plan. In addition, Medicare Advantage Plans often have lower deductibles and copayments than Original Medicare.

Are You Eligible for Medicare Advantage?

To be eligible for a Medicare Advantage Plan, you must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B. You must also live in the service area of the plan that you want to join.

How to Enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan

You can enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), which runs from October 15 to December 7 each year. You can also enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan during the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (OAEP), which runs from January 1 to February 14 each year.

If you are already enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan and you want to switch plans, you can do so during the AEP or the OAEP. You can also switch plans if you are disenrolled from your current plan for any reason.
